Welcome to St. Andrew Lutheran Church!

TAKE NOTE!

In addition to our usual Sunday worship service, during the season of Lent we are joining with our partners in ministry from Gloria Dei, Zion, and Grace Lutheran Churches in a variety of ways.

There will be two Ash Wednesday services:

Zion Lutheran Church, 12:00 p.m. | 27 Judd St., Bristol.

Following the worship service, you are invited to share in a special lunch served by the people of Zion Church.

Grace Lutheran Church, Plainville, 7:00 p.m.| 222 Farmington Ave, Plainville.

Hear the blowing of a shofar as we read from the prophet Joel. Receive a cross of ashes traced on your forehead or the back of your hand as a sign of our human mortality, frailty and dependence on God. Be fed with Jesus’ forgiveness at his holy meal. An inter-generational service.

Beginning Wednesday, February 28, members and friends of our four Lutheran congregations of Bristol and Plainville are invited to participate in four Lenten Wednesday evening gatherings for light suppers of soup and bread, conversation and study, and worship. All gatherings will begin at 6:00pm

February 28 and March 13, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 355 Camp St., Bristol

March 6 and March 20, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Bristol

For worship on the Wednesdays that St. Andrew Church hosts, we will turn to the beautiful liturgy of Holden Evening Prayer, originally written for the community gathered at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state.

We’re glad you found us on this website!  And we’re eager to welcome you in person soon!

You are invited to worship with the community of faith at St. Andrew Church. Sunday worship begins at 9:30. And don’t forget coffee, good eats and conversation following worship. We are a gathering of many ages and backgrounds, all with one purpose — to praise God and to find new meaning, joy and hope in the gifts of Word and Sacrament that we might be enlightened and encouraged on our way through our daily lives.

Whether you are new to the faith, or new to the Lutheran community, whether you are seeking new purpose or direction in life, whether you are seeking a place of safety and hospitality, wherever you are on your life journey, you are welcome at St. Andrew Church, where the worship is lively, the music lifts spirits, and the people welcoming.

If you are unable to worship in person on Sunday mornings or want to get a taste of what worship is like at St. Andrew Church, check out our live streaming on Facebook (@Standrewct) or YouTube (@st.andrewlutheranchurchbri2569) or view the recorded service anytime later.
